(4-18-23) Lima Sr. will start its new run in the Toledo City League with a new Head Football Coach…Bill Lawrence.

Lawrence has been an associate head coach, offensive coordinator and an assistant coach in Kenton for 16 years and has been the Wildcats head softball coach for 15 years.

Lawrence replaces Alphonso Townsend, who was the Spartans’ head coach the past three seasons. Last season the Spartans went 3-8, 3-7 in 2021 and 1-5 in 2020 during the pandemic. During that three year period Kenton went 1-9, 0-10 and 5-4.

He is the ninth head football coach at Lima Senior since Leonard Rush retired after the 2000 season.

Along with his coaching duties, Lawrence will also serve as an intervention specialist at the high school.
