US High School Football Consecutive Game Winning Streaks – Week 1

(8-24-24) Not every state has started its football season…but the #1 and #2 longest teams winning streaks played last night and both picked up wins.

Marion Local made the long road trip to Linton (Indiana) and handled the Miners 45-6 to pick up its 49th consecutive win.

The Flyers are eight games away from reaching the Ohio all-time consecutive game winning streak at 57 and nine wins away from breaking the record.

The current all-time leader in Ohio is Delphos St. John’s with 57 consecutive wins and the Blue Jaysare in the same conference as the Flyers…the Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC). Versailles who had a streak of 54 consecutive wins is also a member of the MAC.

55 – Kirtland (2018-2021) *Kirtland won state championships in 2018 (Division VI), 2019 (Division V) and 2020 (Division V)
54 – Versailles (1993-1996) *Versailles won state championships in 1993 (Division IV), 1994 (Division V) and 1995 (Division IV)
49 – Dayton Jefferson Twp. (1970-1975) *regular season games only, Jefferson Twp. did not qualify for postseason during streak
49 – Marion Local (2021-active currently) *Marion Local won state championships in 2021 (Division VII), 2022 (Division VI) and 2023 (Division VII)

Indianapolis Lutheran won its 44th game in a row beating Christel House at Manual 41-14.

The longest Indiana overall winning streak in state history is Bloomington South’s 60-game streak from 1967-73.
