(10-5-26) On the field, Massillon Washington is unbeaten — arguably the best team in Ohio. Off the field, the Tigers keep losing.

The OHSAA has ruled senior Brayton Feister and junior Brydon Feister ineligible for the second half of the season, per a court filing in Stark County Common Pleas Court. The brothers transferred from Archbishop Hoban.

The Feisters were also suspended in June from the 2027 state wrestling tournament.

The Feister brothers had been playing under a temporary restraining order and the OHSAA deemed the transfers made due to a desire to switch schools, alleging that their father reached out to multiple programs before deciding on Massillon Washington.

The court fight isn’t over: the families’ attorney won a temporary restraining order Sept. 25 letting the players compete, and a preliminary injunction hearing is set for Tuesday morning, Oct. 6, which could change everything.

The stakes: Massillon is ranked No. 22 nationally and No. 1 in Ohio’s Super 25 — but its official record has already been cut to 1-2, with three more eligibility cases still pending. And the Feisters aren’t role players: Brayton is a four-star Oregon commit and preseason All-American; Brydon leads the team with 11.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.

The OHSAA cleared another Massillon transfer, Da’Shaun Williams, for the entire season,

Three other players with their eligibility in question include junior offensive tackle Micah Walker, sophomore running back Gary Yeager III and sophomore defensive back De’Veair Adams. Walker transferred from Nordonia, while Yeager and Adams came from St. Vincent-St. Mary

The Tigers are scheduled to play Cornerstone Christian (Tx) on Friday night.
