(12-3-17) Last night in Alabama, Opelika-Auburn News’ Evan McCullers covered a game that might bring out some more conversations around the US on why high school basketball needs a shot clock.
Score By Quarters
- Opelika 1-5-1-2 = 8
- Auburn 4-2-6-4 = 16
Why slow down the game?
Last month (1-20-17) Auburn handled Opelika by 36 points 62-26.
Opelika Head Coach John Wadsworth told McCullers:
“I said, ‘Hey, y’all want to hold the ball against Auburn?’ And they looked at me like I was crazy. It took a little convincing to get them to understand if you are down 2-0, then we’re not going to shoot. That’s a hard sell.”
Love McCullers thoughts as game enters 4th quarter!
At the end of three, Auburn leads 12-6. Going to take a miracle for the Bulldogs to pull this one out without shooting.

Tell us what you think below, for or against a shot-clock and why you feel that way.
