(2-22-17) The 2017 OHSAA Swimming & Diving State Tournaments at the
C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton kicked off today with the diving competition. In the boys diving finals Coldwater’s Caleb Keck finished third and on the girl’s side Celina Sawyer Weitzel finished eighth, both divers are Seniors.

For the fourth year in a row Coldwater’s (Senior) Caleb Keck competed at the
OHSAA State Diving Finals. Keck qualified by winning the DII NW District title with a record score of 493.30. Today Keck finished 3rd with a score 454.85, less than two points out of 2nd place behind Chagrin Falls Peter Nachtwey.
Keck, has placed in the Top 5 four times in the State DII diving competition during
his HS career, 5th as a Freshman, 4th as a Sophomore,3rd as a Junior and now 3rd as a Senior.
Keck’s career at Coldwater may be over, but next year he will be diving at the DI level in the Big 12 at West Virginia University.


COMPLETE OHSAA BOYS INDIVIDUAL DIVING SCORES

Celina’s Sawyer Weitzel finished 8th with a score of 397.95 in the Girls D II State Finals, out of 24 divers. It was Weitzel’s fourth season in a row to compete and her best finish in her career at the State Finals. Last year she finished 10th with a score of 395.05, 2015 she finished 13th with a score of 370.70 and in 2014 she finished 11th with a score of 331.80.
