(3-6-17)  If Nathal Hale decides to skip the upcoming Dick’s Sporting Goods High School National Championships, it would look to solidify them as the MaxPreps National Top 25 Champions and also the SSN Split Public School champions as well. They are #1 in both rankings. The Raiders won the WIAA 3A State title over conference rival Garfield  68-51 this past weekend.

Three new schools enter the Split Public rankings, two are re-entering Norcross and Basha, while Tift County makes its first appearance.

Talk started that the Knights season was over after a Michael Porter Jr. posting on Instagram.

Crazy…My high school career is over! Thank you to my family, my coaches, my teammates, and everybody else who has supported me for the last 4 years! It’s been a crazy ride and it couldn’t have ended in a better way! UW here I come

Bishop Montgomery shook up the National and Split Private school rankings, the Knights knocked off No. 6 Sierra Canyon and No. 7 Mater Dei to  win the Southern Section Open Division title. The Division is considered by many to be the best collection of teams in the country, the Knights were not the favorites to win it.

However; MaxPreps still did not think the Knights were the top Private school this week, so the new #1 this week in the Split rankings is Imhotep Institute Charter. It’s their first week in the top spot for the Philadelphia school.

One new Private school enters the rankings this eek, Trinity Episcopal (Virginia) at 35-1.

The Independent Top 10 still has IMG Academy at #1, the next 8 are the same as last week. Only one newcomer this week, First Love Christian Academy.  On Saturday night the Knights picked up a 84-63 win over Trinity International (Nev) to claim the National Christian School Athletic Association championship.

USA Today still has Nathan Hale ranked 1st this week, the Top 13 did not change this week. Added to the rankings this week, Norcross and Skyline rejoin, as does Simeon, which gives the Chicago Public League a representative, after not having one for several weeks.
