(12-18-17) Marion Local’s Tyler Mescher (6’1″225 lbs Senior) has been named the SSN Player of the Week.
The Marion Local Flyers opened the season on Saturday night beating county rival Celina 66-38. The Flyers again were starting the season later than area teams after winning another D VI State Football Championship. Tyler Mescher was a big part of that football run and was an All-MAC first team member.
Mescher started the basketball season off with a bang, leading the Flyers with 20 points and 6 rebounds in the win over the Bulldogs.
Tyler is a veteran player which has helped him get ready to produce in a short period of time. He has improved his ability defensively to guard away from the basket and is now able to challenge passing lanes which is needed in our style of defense. Tyler works hard and tries to get better everyday. He is a team 1st guy and helping his team win with whatever it takes is the only thing that matters to him.
