(5-18-18) The 2nd day of the Defiance D II Northwest District Track and Field Meet produced several more Mercer County regional qualifiers.

In the girls meet won by Toledo Central Catholic, who had 84 points, Coldwater finished in 6th place with 45.5 points and Celina was finished in 8th place with 35 points.

Coldwater had a big day two and will be represented in five more events at next week’s regional. Savannah Seibert finished 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles and was also a member of the 4×400 meter relay team that finished 4th along with Kourtney Diller, Sara Honingford and Beth Honingford.

Katie Alig advanced in two field events,  with a 4th place finish in both the long jump and shot put. Moving on to regionals next week with a 2nd place finish is Shelby Giere in the 100 meter hurdles.

For Celina, Lauren Jackson continues her winning ways in the 800 meter run by picking up a district title. Emma Lutz finished 4th in the 1,600 meter run and Makenna Klingshirn picked up a 4th place finish in the 100 meter hurdles.

Coldwater’s boys team had one regional qualifier on day two, Thomas Schweiterman was 3rd in the discus.

Findlay d1 district day 2 scores

At Findlay in the D I Northwest District Meet, Celina finished 3rd with 63 points, just one point behind Lexington. The Bulldogs qualified in for four more events for next week’s regional.

The Bulldogs Tyler Ross added another district title in the shot put and did it with a Findlay Cooper Tire Track & Field Complex Record throw, on day one he also won the discus. Celina’s Seth Houston added a 4th place finish in the shot put.

The Bulldogs 4×200 meter relay team (Adrian Hurley, Kyle Flaute, Conner Mills and  Kole Murlin) picked up a 2nd place finish.  Hurley finished 2nd in the 400 meter dash and Connor Mills added a 3rd place finish in the 300 meter hurdles.
