(6-5-19) The 2019 OHSAA Football Division Breakdowns were released yesterday, still to be determined will be the regional assignments.
The big winner in this year’s divisional changes looks to be MAC powerhouse Marion Local. It looks like an early Christmas present for Coach Tim Goodwin.
The Flyers move down from D VI to D VII. They get out at an opportune time. Why? Two MAC powerhouses from 2018 the Minster Wildcats move up from D VII to D VI, along with Anna who is moving down from D V to D VI.
It is the first time since competitive balance that the five Mercer County MAC members are not in the same division.
Marion Local (drops to Division VII)
Minster (moves up to VI)
Anna (moves down to VI)
Fort Recovery (VI)
St. Henry (VI)
New Bremen (VII)
Delphos St. John’s (VII)
The WBL sees three changes in divisions, the one that catches your eye is St. Marys moving up from D IV to D III after a solid tournament run in D IV. O-G moves up from D V to to D IV, while Bath moves down from D IV to DV.
D III — Celina, Defiance, Elida, Shawnee, St. Marys and Wapakoneta. (St. Marys moves up)
D IV — Kenton, Van Wert, Ottawa-Glandorf (O-G moves up from D5 to D4)
D V — Bath (Down from D4 to D5)
