(3-12-22) It was not how New Knoxville wanted to start the D IV State Basketball Championship by not scoring a point and falling behind 9-0 to Waterford in the first quarter. The Rangers would make some runs but it wasn’t enough to come back and beat the Wildcats. Waterford would hang on for the win 35-26 and a state title.
The Rangers had a tough night shooting hitting just 9 of 43 (21%) from the field. The Wildcats held the Rangers top scorer Ellie Gabel in check as she scored just 2 points.

Haley Fledderjohann led the way for New Knoxville with 11 points and Carsyn Henschen had 10 rebounds.
Waterford did not have anyone in double-figures, Kendall Sury led the way with 8 points. It was the 2nd state title for the Wildcats….the first one came in 2016.
