
(5-21-22) New Knoxville grad and Hillard Bradley Varsity Assistant Coach , Derek Dicke, has been named the new head boys basketball coach at Jonathan Alder.
Dicke just finished his 8th year coaching basketball, and his 7th season with at Hilliard Bradley . In the 2013-2014 basketball season, Dicke was the Graduate Assistant at Otterbein University. In 2014-2015, Derek was the head freshman boys coach at Bishop Ready High School. Derek attended Otterbein University, where he played 4 years of basketball on the Otterbein Men’s Basketball Team and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health/Physical Education. He attended New Knoxville High School. Derek Currently serves as the Educational Assistant at Hilliard Bradley.
Last season the Pioneers, who compete in D II, were 18-9 on the season and won the Kenton Trail Division 9-1 in Central Buckeye Conference play. Dicke replaces Zach Ross, who coached the Pioneers for three years, to become the New Philadelphia head basketball coaching job. At Alder, Ross compiled an overall record of 58-13, was a three-time Central Buckeye Conference Champion and garnered District 10 Coach of the Year twice. Like Dicke, Ross also coached at Bradley from 2014 to 2018.
