(5-22-22) After coming in 2nd by just .5 points at the Western Buckeye League (WBL) Track Championships the Celina Girls Track team picks up the D II District tile at Defiance. The Bulldogs outdistanced WBL Champions O-G 126-99.
NOTE: Due to weather conditions the pole vault was not completed and is scheduled for Monday. That also was the reason for results being posted late.
Thanks to a 1-2 finish in the 100m hurdles by Sophomores Natalie Dross and Isabel Duenas Celina picked up a total of 18 points.
In the 1,600m run the Dameron’s, Kaylie and Joscelyn, finished 1-3 and picked up another 16 points for Celina.
In the 4×100 relay (Ellie Hitchcock, Paige Veit, Kira Dirksen and Nevah Huser) Celina would nip Evergreen for a 1st place finish.
In the field events Kira Dirksen would win the District long jump title.
