Ft. Recovery To Play For D IV State Baseball Title

(6-8-24) Ft. Recovery went 9-12 in the regular season…but they are perfect during tournament play.

The Ft. Recovery Indians will play for the OHSAA D IV State Baseball Championship on Sunday at 7pm at Canal Stadium in Canton against Berlin Hiland who beat Russia 2-0 and will be playing in their 6th state final in school history.

It is just the second time that Ft. Recovery lost in the Class B title game to Beavercreek 6-1.

The Indians earned the chance to play for the title beating Hillsdale 3-1.

The Indians were led by Alex Dues pitched all 7 innings giving up 6 hits, 1 run, 5 K’s and just two walks. Alex Gareke went two for two and scored two runs, while Gavin Faller had a hit and 2 RBIs and Reece Evers had a hit an a RBI.

Hillsdale 3B Owen Hoffman went 3 for 4 and Aiden Hoffman went 1 for 1 and had the only RBI.

The other D IV State Semifinal game – Berlin Hiland 2 Russia 0—
