(9-7-24) Last night in a NIC 10 game between Rockford Auburn and Harlem with 4 minutes left in the game…a fight broke out behind the bleachers between two girls…the fight would expand and panic would set in with the crowd. Both teams would leave the field for safety.
Harlem coach Jim Morrow told the Rockford Register Star –
“Our student section started emptying, and panic spread from there. I am not an authority on what happened. I was not aware of anything going on behind the bleachers. It was just a panicked response. Our guys saw what was transpiring, and we just tried to get everybody to safety.”
