‘SAC’ked…Homestead Girls Basketball To Not Play All SAC Members

(7-22-26) It seems that the Summit Athletic Conference (SAC) is crumbling a little bit at a time and facing some major changes in the future.

Homestead’s girls basketball team will not play four conference members this coming season…Wayne, North Side, South Side and Concordia.

Homestead and Carroll both are part-time members of the SAC, in the past they have only competed in football and boys and girls basketball. All other sports the two schools play independent schedules.

This summer Concordia announced that they would be leaving the SAC after the 2026-27 season and will join the ACAC. After that announcement the SAC sent out information of looking for interested schools in considering membership in the conference.

SSN in the past has made several attempts to contact SAC leadership…with absolutely no response, other media sources have found the same when requesting comments..Public schools need to be open to answering questions on any issue when approached about a subject.

The landscape of the SAC is now changing on the basketball court too.
