OHSAA In The Middle Of Another Transfer Ruling Controversy

(9-24-26) Cincinnati Elder will be without one of its key players for the remainder of the season as wide receiver Andrew Lyman has been ruled ineligible by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA).

Elder standout receiver Andrew Lyman has been ruled ineligible for the rest of the season by the OHSAA, per transfer rules.

Elder appealed, it was denied.

Lyman (Sr-WR) is the leading receiver for Elder…in five games this season he made 23 catches for 290 yards and eight touchdowns.

Lyman transferred from Kings High School.

OHSAA spokesman Tim Stried sent a written statement to The Enquirer—

“The OHSAA appreciates Elder’s cooperation throughout this process, but the facts presented in this case did not lead the OHSAA to apply one of the exceptions to the transfer bylaw consequence; therefore, the student-athlete is ineligible beginning with Week 6 of the football season. The family brought the case to the independent OHSAA appeals panel, which also denied the transfer request.” 

Elder (5-0, plays host to St. Xavier (2-3) Friday.
