(3-10-17) According to several sources, former Rockford Lutheran Head Football Coach Bruce Bazsali will be the interim Head Coach at Guilford in 2017. Sources indicated that the process calls for Bazsali to be replaced by current Forreston Head Football Coach Dennis Diduch and to assume the Viking job in 2018. Two internal candidates were also being considered. Bazsali will replace veteran Head Coach Mel Gilfillian who recently stepped down from the position.
The next scheduled RPS 205 Board Meeting is this Tuesday, March 14th. That is also when a new Principal for Guilford will be considered. Ronald “Gus” Carter is on Tuesday’s agenda.
Bazsali retired from Rockford Lutheran in mid-December and has already been replaced by former Belvidere Head Coach Chuck Leonard.
The interview process for the coaching position included Guilford student-athletes and a parent.
It's terrific having student athletes & parent involved with the Head Football Coach interview process. @GVikeAthletics @RPS205 pic.twitter.com/hbebnvVcLR
