Above game was after this story was released yesterday, Petry throws the perfect game in a win over Minster.

(5-15-17) This week we have two Players of the Week, two freshman pitchers from Greenville, Ohio combined to pitch two-perfect D II state sectional tournament games in a row, Caitlin Christman and Baylee Petry.

The two ‘Green Wave‘ aces helped Greenville in their first two D II Sectional games, beating Dayton Dunbar 18-0 and following that with a 17-0 win over Trotwood-Madison.

Against Dunbar it was a ‘perfect‘ perfect game as both pitchers combined to strike out all 15 hitters in the 5 inning game win.

In the Trotwood-Madison game, Petry had 7 strikeouts and Christman added four more K’s in the 5 inning win.

The two combined for 26 K’s out of the 30 outs in the two games.

On the season Petry has won 20 games, has a 1.02 ERA, while offensively she is hitting .439 with 23 RBIs.  Christman on the season has a 1.64 ERA on the year.

Greenville Head Coach Jerrod Newlan told the Daily Advocate after the Dunbar game:

“Both pitchers are freshman pitchers. Petry’s had a great season. We hope to continue that until we end in Akron. This was a unique opportunity today, and all the girls got to play. We are getting ready to dodge some bullets coming up though as the games get tougher. ”
