(1-5-20) At Saturday’s Buckeye Classic Tournament at HP Lanes in Columbus, the St. Marys boys team won the 24-team title, while in the girls match St. Marys finished 2nd and Celina finished in the top 4.
The lane patterns were extremely difficult and 3 feet shorter then what is normally bowled. The tournament only cut to 4 teams out of 24 competing for the championship.
GIRLS
Three of the four final teams were from the Western Buckeye League, Celina was eliminated by Wapakoneta in the semifinals, while St. Marys knocked off #1 seed Boardman.
In the Championship match Wapakoneta beat their Auglaize County neighbor St. Marys 162-139.

St. Marys was led by Alyana Thornsberry with a 518 series and a 2nd place individual finish, Debbi Swisher finished in 4th with a 517 series and Jaden Gibson was 15th with a 452 series.
Celina was led by Jamie Coats who finished with a 447 series in 16th place, while teammate Audree Gray was 26th with a 425 series.
Boys
St. Marys entered the final four as the #2 seed, beating #3 seed Gahanna Lincoln in the semifinals, the Roughriders would knock-off #1 seed Boardman in the Championship final (2-1).
The Roughriders were led by Johnathan Shinnaberry who finished 3rd as an individual with a 567 series, including a high game of 211. Derek Fisher finished 6th with a 553 series, Cam Now was 20th with a 499 series.
