(6-1-24) Izzy Zahn led Coldwater to the 2024 OHSAA D III State Girls Track Championship yesterday at Dayton’s Welcome Stadium.

Zahn picked up a 6th place finish in the 100 meter, was a member of the winning 4X400 meter relay team. She would win her second consecutive 200 meter state final.

D III Team Results

Area team scores—13th – Minster (17 points), 16th – Ft. Recovery (15 points), 31st – Marion Local (8 points), 39th – St. Henry (5 points)

On Thursday Zahn won the D III State Long Jump title in a jump off…and in the 300 meter prelims set a new State record.

Anna Roessner

Some times overlooked in Mercer County is the outstanding performance this year of Ft. Recovery’s Anna Roessner… she finished two spots behind Zahn in the 200 meter with a time of 25.09 and one spot ahead of Zahn in 100 meter final in a time of 12.34.

Roessner joined teammates Paige Gunnenbiller, Kiana Matsuda and Mara Pearson to finish 4th in the 4X100 meter relay with a time of 49.67.

St. Henry

St. Henry’s Rileigh Baumer finished 5th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:17.39.

St. Henry’s 4X100 meter relay team of Chloe Speck, Morgan Baumer, Ellie Fullenamp and Sam Lauber finished 8th in a time of 50.41.

Marion Local

The Flyers’ Grace Moeller finished 2nd in the 100 meter (33′) hurdles in a time of 14.91.
