(10-25-25) Taking a quick look at the playoff situation, since Ironton is banned this season, for D V Region 19 at least two teams will benefit.

Had Ironton still been in the playoffs and there were no sanctions they would have received a bye week, being in the top 4 one school will jump into that spot. Plus one school, who would have missed the playoffs, will not miss the playoffs and will now compete in Round 1.

After week 9…

Barnesville was at #5 in the OHSAA computer rankings after week 9, in Joe Eitel’s week 10 rankings they move into the #4 spot and a bye week.

Portsmouth was 10th in the OHSAA computer rankings after week 9…but after being credited with a forfeit win last night over Ironton is #5 in Joe Eitel’s week 10 rankings . Allowing them to have a home game in round 1 next week.

The Ironton game with Portsmouth last night was an on the field 55-13 win for the Tigers. In today’s OHSAA release today it said that last night’s win was credited as a forfeited win for the Trojans…the reason the Tigers used an ineligible player.

Since Ironton supposedly was on probation before the game last night…is the use of an ineligible player a violation, will the OHSAA deal with that?
