(9-23-17) Three former WBL coaches, two who coached at Celina, all won Friday night football games around the country.

It was a record breaking night in Missouri for two former Kenton Wildcats, Coach Mike Mauk and QB Alex Houtson in a 69-58 win over Parkview.

Glendale Senior QB Alex Huston, broke national high school records in yards (824), completions (70) and attempts (88. Huston completed 70-of-88 passes for 824 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions, 443 yards in the first half and 381 in the second.Houston also ran for a 4th quarter TD.

When asked after the win Falcons’ Coach Mike Mauk was told by ozarksportszone.com about Houston’s night:

“Really? Well, he was trying to help our team win. Any time we can do that, it’s a good thing. I’m very proud of him and his efforts and the guys who blocked for him and the guys who caught the ball for him.” Interesting fact, Huston’s 70 completions broke former Kenton Wildcats’ Grant Sherman’s record set in 2013 of 58.
