Should the Padres sign Thwaits he could follow in the footsteps of Marion Local, Ohio State and former Padre draft pick and player Cory Luebke. The good news would be if is signed that he would have the opportunity at sometime to play for the Ft. Wayne Tincaps of the Midwest League, the same as Luebke did.
Present Padre reliever Craig Stammen is a Versailles grad.
