(1-18-22) South Decatur’s Hunter Johnson broke the single-game school scoring record on Saturday night with 53 points to lead the Cougars to a 79-67 Mid-Hoosier Conference win over Southwestern (Shelby).
On the night Johnson went 10 of 17 from the field, including 7 of 13 from 3-point range, 12 of 13 from the free-throw line and he added 12 rebounds for the Cougars (7-7, 2-1).
Besides breaking the school scoring record he also beat a 56 year old Decatur County record of 52 points held by Dale Muckerheide of Clarksburg vs. Cross Plains on February 8th, 1966.
