(6-1-24) Yesterday the Marion Local Boys Track team at Dayton’s Welcome Stadium picked up the OHSAA D III Boys State Track Championship Trophy,
Marion Local won its first boys state track title in 2023 and now becomes the first team to repeat as champions in D III since East Canton did it , when they won three consecutive championships from 2017-19.
Marion Local Coach Kyle Grabowski told the Lima News—
“I know it means the world to us as coaches and our community. A lot of people in our community came out to support them. That’s the nice thing about small towns in Ohio. I’m just so proud of them. It’s really cool to be here.”

- Pole Vault — Toby Kremer won with a height of 15 feet, 4 inches.
- 4×200-meter relay team of Wesley Schoen, Victor Hoelscher, Justin Knouff and Aiden Grieshop finished first with a time of 1:29.77. .
- 4×100-meter relay team of Brayden Pavelka, Knouff, Kyle Otte and Carter Jones placed second (43.37) after a three team photo finish.
- 4×400-meter relay team of Grieshop, Hoelscher, Pohlman and Wesley Schoen finished second with a time of (3:21.35).
- Discus — Senior Jack Knapke (Ohio State commit) finished second with a throw of 177 feet, 1 inch.
- 200-meter -Victor Hoelscher finished 4th with a time of 22.56
- 100-meter-Justin Knouff finished 7th
