(9-9-17) Coldwater grad Brody Hoying (RS-Sophomore) has had a spectacular start to the 2017 Eastern Michigan football season.

Today Hoying was a big part of the Eagles first ever win against a Big 10 conference team in 39 tries when they beat Rutgers on the road 16-13. The Eagles are now 2-0 on the season with the win.
In the 2nd half Hoying, a defensive back, stepped in front of a (QB) Kyle Bolin pass and returned the interception 71 yards to the Rutgers 5. Hoying had a very busy day on defense for the Eagles as he added 5 solo tackles.

For Hoying choosing EMU has turned out to be a plus for both him and the Eagles, it could be an interesting run for them in the MAC.
Eastern Michigan will take a two-week break before they play Ohio at home on September 23rd.
DID YOU KNOW –
Minster grad Eli Wolf also committed to EMU the same time Hoying did in July of 2014. Wolf never made it to campus as he decided to walk-on at Tennessee and join his older brother Ethan. That move has been good for Wolf, as he was awarded a scholarship before the start of this season.
